About Us

Charity for children in Bassetlaw

Our aim at From The Heart...

Through a shared passion of fundraising and successfully raising over £15,000 for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and other families’ appeals in our local community, we realised we could create our own charity and make a huge difference to people’s lives within Bassetlaw. From this ‘From the Heart Charity’ was formed in January 2017.

We became a registered charity in August 2017 and since the charity formed, we have successfully supported over 1000 families, whether that be through donations of clothing, gas/electric, food parcels, furniture, sensory toys, day trips, our fitness programmes, or our activity packs.

We run solely on donations, funding, and sponsorship to provide hope and support to vulnerable children and young people in the Bassetlaw District of North Nottinghamshire. Our sole aim is to make in-roads to alleviate severe systemic socio-economic deprivation and persistent poverty to local families with children and young people and provide them with the resources they need to lead a better quality of life.

Our aid grants support various individual needs for young people and families with children between the ages of 0-18 years and up to 21 years for those with disabilities. Our aid grants can be used for food, gas/electric, clothing, furniture, and sensory toys. However, all requests and circumstances will need to meet the set criteria.

As a charity we work holistically with other local organisations such as education and training providers, other charities, and local run council organisations, so we can widen the scale and scope of the service we offer as well as aid the promotion and protection of a good healthy life in our community.

FTHC supports young people and families with children between 0-18 years and up to 21 years, for those with disabilities.  We support with food parcels, toiletries/sanitary products, clothing, furniture, Christmas toys, and free educational activity packs.
